The Conference on Sustainable Intensification (CID 2024) will be held in Dakar from 24 to 26 April 2024. The conference aims to bring together researchers, teacher-researchers, students, experts and professionals to present the latest scientific findings and discuss the challenges and opportunities for sustainable agriculture in sub-Saharan Africa.

The Conference will be structured into four sessions, and two round tables addressing cross-cutting themes.

  • Session 1: Land use transformations to meet the challenges of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development
  • Session 2: Methodologies to co-designing and co-assessing future agricultural practices and agrosystems transformations
  • Session 3: The agroecological transition for sustainability and food sovereignty
  • Session 4: Digital technologies and artificial intelligence to support agricultural and food systems transformations
  • Round table 1: Charting the path to food sovereignty through agroecological transition in West Africa (organized by DyTAES)
  • Round Table 2: Sustainable intensification on the agenda of the next Conference of the Parties (COP16) to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD)? What messages will be conveyed at the COP16?
