Research partnerships in Zimbabwe and Mozambique

A CIRAD delegation, comprising the heads of Bios and Persyst departments, the Regional Directorate for Southern Africa and Madagascar and the head of Aïda unit, went to meet CIRAD's partners in Zimbabwe and Mozambique from 25 to 29 March 2024.

In particular, the delegation met representatives and researchers from the University of Zimbabwe (UZ) in Harare and the Eduardo Mondlane University (UEM) in Maputo. It also visited several experimental sites. Discussions focused on research, systems, teaching, current and future projects (RAIZ, IntercropValues, etc.) and balanced partnership relations. Avenues for collaboration on the use of the biological diversity of traditional cereals, agroecology and climate change are emerging.
