Research teams

The reason for structuring the Unit in teams was to promote interactions between disciplines and exchanges of methodologies between researchers working on different cropping systems, in different parts of the world.

Making full use of the ecosystem services provided by biodiversity requires a better understanding of the ecological processes involved in agro-ecosystems. Within the research unit, the team seeks to better understand the mechanisms underlying ecological regulations of agronomic interest, at different spatial and temporal scales of analysis, from the plant to the cropping system and landscape.

ESTIME team assesses the agronomic, environmental and socio-economic performance of cropping systems, extrapolates their performance over time and space, and quantifies the trade-offs between the agronomic, environmental and socio-economic performance of cropping systems.

TAPAGE team is working on the transformation of cropping systems combining agro-ecological intensification of production and the mobilization of ecosystem services in family farming. It mobilizes participatory methods for designing systems that combine multi-year experiments and stakeholder networks. This work is accompanied by the identification and consideration of the levers needed to support stakeholders in the agro-ecological transition.
